Ushi St. Sargis monastery was founded in 5c. by the great linguist, scientist and philosopher, St. Mesrop Mashtots, the creator of the Armenian alphabet (405y.), who buried there the power of St. Sargis. However, the main part of the monastery was built in 13c. Unfortunately, the monastery was destroyed by an earthquake in 1827y. At the monastery, you will enjoy a beautiful view of Aragatsotn valley.
On the other side of the main road, 5km from Ushi, there is Hovhannavank monastery. And 10km from Ushi, there is Saghmosavank monastery.
