Tour Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Yerevan
We will meet all our guests at the airport and arrange a transfer to the hotel. After check-in, you will have free time to explore Yerevan on your own.
Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world, yet today it is also a modern capital. The city center is very cozy and easy to navigate, with many landmarks and pleasant places for a walk.
Yerevan is also one of the safest cities in the world, making it comfortable even for inexperienced travelers. In addition, our guide is always in touch and will be happy to advise where to go and how to get there.
Overnight in a hotel in Yerevan.
Day 2 — Saghmosavank Monastery, Alphabet Monument, walk to the ruins of Bardzrakash and Kobayr Monastery
Almost everyone who visits Armenia for the first time dreams of seeing the legendary Mount Ararat in all its beauty — and this is exactly how we begin our journey.
We head to Saghmosavank Monastery, offering breathtaking views of the gorge of the Kasagh River, which stretches toward the foothills of Mount Ararat.
Our next stop is the Armenian Alphabet Monument, where everyone can take a photo with the first letter of their name.
Continuing north, we travel to the Lori Region. Here, we enjoy easy walks in the gorge of the Debed River, visiting Kobayr Monastery and the ruins of the Bardzrakash Monastery.
Overnight in a hotel or guesthouse in Lori. Accommodation is double occupancy, with private facilities in the room, as in hotels.
Day 3 — UNESCO World Heritage Haghpat Monastery, Nrnaberd Fortress, walk in Dilijan National Park
We begin the day with a visit to Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to its spiritual, historical, and architectural value, Haghpat is of special interest to admirers of the work of Sergei Parajanov and Lady Gaga.
Next, we travel to the far north of Armenia, almost to the border with Georgia, to visit Akhtala Monastery and the Nrnaberd Fortress. After exploring the ancient frescoes of the monastery and walking along the fortress walls and surrounding structures, we continue toward the Dilijan National Park.
Here, we enjoy an easy walk through the national park and the famous yew grove.
Overnight in a hotel or guesthouse in Dilijan. Accommodation is double occupancy, with private facilities in the room, as in hotels.
Day 4 — Lake Sevan, khachkars, local cheese dairy, Selim Pass
Today we experience a dramatic change of landscapes. The forests of Lori and Dilijan give way to the rugged mountains of the Geghama Range. Despite the harsh climate, the scenery here is no less impressive.
This is where Lake Sevan is located, along with the Sevanavank Monastery, standing on a peninsula with beautiful panoramic views over the lake.
Next, we visit a local cheese dairy, where we learn about the production of different types of cheese and, of course, enjoy a tasting.
Later, we see what is probably the largest collection of khachkars — traditional Armenian stone crosses carved in stone. To end the day, we drive along the breathtaking serpentines of Selim Pass and visit the historic Selim Caravanserai.
Overnight in a hotel in Vayk.
Day 5 — Shaki Waterfall, Tatev Monastery and aerial tramway, mysterious Zorats Karer
We have already visited the far north of Armenia — today we travel to the very south, to Tatev Monastery. Most of the journey is by road, but the final part is truly special: we fly over the canyon by the Wings of Tatev aerial tramway.
The Wings of Tatev is listed in the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway without support towers, offering spectacular views over the deep gorge below.
On this day, we also visit Shaki Waterfall and the mysterious Zorats Karer (Karahunj), an ancient megalithic site still surrounded by legends and unanswered questions.
Overnight in a hotel in Vayk.
Day 6 — Noravank Monastery, Magellan Cave, winery visit, Khor Virap Monastery
Despite wars and destruction, culture and art have always flourished in Armenia, giving rise to masterpieces of world significance. One such masterpiece is undoubtedly Noravank Monastery, famous for its unique bas-reliefs and the world’s first realistic depiction of God the Father.
The monastery is surrounded by red cliffs, and the road leading to it runs through a narrow canyon with steep rock walls. This area is also home to one of the deepest caves in Armenia — Magellan Cave. The cave is equipped for visitors and does not require any special skills or equipment. Helmets and headlamps are provided at the entrance.
After the cave, it is time to relax and unwind — with a visit to a winery in Areni, a region famous for its winemaking traditions.
On our way back to Yerevan, we stop at Khor Virap Monastery, offering the most spectacular view of the legendary Mount Ararat.
Overnight in a hotel in Yerevan.
Day 7 — Rock-carved Geghard Monastery, the pagan temple of Garni Temple, walk to the Symphony of Stones
It is hard to believe, but the halls and chambers of Geghard Monastery are entirely carved into solid basalt rock. According to legend, much of this work was done by a single person over many years. The monastery is so remarkable that it is now included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
We also visit the pagan Temple of Garni, dating back to the 1st century AD and built during the Hellenistic period.
Descending into the gorge of the Azat River, we take an easy walk to the famous basalt columns known as the Symphony of Stones.

Day 8 — Free time in Yerevan, transfer to the airport
Depending on your flight time, you will have free time to explore the city on your own, buy souvenirs at the colorful flea market Vernissage, or stock up on Armenian sweets and local products.
